Course Update
Construction is moving right along; this morning we walked the dozer to holes 9 and 18. This term, "walking the dozer" simply refers to the process of our crew flipping tires underneath the bulldozer's tracks, so we can transport it without doing any damage to the course. We walked the dozer right across 1 and 10 tee without damaging the turf. We will be prepping 9 and 18 as well as continuing the detail work on holes 1,2, and 3; from here we will be moving to holes 7,4,6, and 5. At some point in the new year we will also be working the creek on hole 11. This work will involve removing the earth dam which is between the creek and fairway and shaping the creek to a more natural appearance. The creek is currently no more than a grassed ditch, and is eyesore at best. At the same time we will also be shaping the creek to the right of 11; this is where we have removed all the undergrowth. Performing these two actions will not only give an aesthetic improvement to the hole, but these actions will also improve some of the flooding issues we experience. We will lower the right side of creek to where it is slightly lower than fairway; allowing the rough to flood instead of green and fairway. This area will be established in a native mix similar to what we see on 1 and 7
