Last week we had a full week of walking the course with Bill Coore, and at this time he checks on the work which has been done and makes suggestions for work upcoming. This will be the process for the remainder of our renovation. We will have a few holes shaped and worked and Coore will make necessary changes and adjustments; there will be constant tweaking throughout the duration of construction. Bill spent the majority of time walking the first 3 holes; first by himself several times and then with the 2 shapers Dave Axland and Keith Rhebb. While this is a restoration of a Perry Maxwell design, it is also termed a "Sympathetic Restoration", this in its simplest form means that the integrity of the original will be preserved while adapting to an ever changing game. Evidence of this can be seen in the addition of a few fairway bunkers on the front side. These bunkers will add interest to tee shots while also proving to be quite an aesthetic improvement. Bill Coore's respect for Old Town and Perry Maxwell is evident, and careful consideration has gone in to the placement of any new bunkers.
